DX-TQSL is DX Development Corporation’s modern replacement for ARRL’s TQSL. Like TQSL, it digitally signs your contacts (QSOs) and submits them to ARRL’s Logbook of The World (LoTW®). It also backs up your callsign certificates, station locations, and full logbook to your secure DxQSO cloud account, and syncs your QSOs in real time to the DxQSO mobile app and the web at dxqso.net. You can even run DX-TQSL without an LoTW account and upload to your DxQSO cloud logbook only.
No DxQSO account needed. Choose Skip - use as TQSL only on the sign-in window and DX-TQSL works just like TQSL. Either way it adds store-and-forward: if LoTW® can’t be reached or doesn’t answer properly, the signed log is kept and sent automatically with your next successful upload. Your logging program is told the log is safe rather than that the upload failed, so a logger set to upload after every QSO keeps working through a LoTW® outage without errors, and the backlog goes out with your first upload after LoTW® is back. The Pending Uploads tab lists everything waiting; Send to LoTW Now (and, when signed in, Send to DxQSO Now) checks that the service is answering and sends it. Each button then rests for a minute before it can be pressed again.

Getting DX-TQSL
There are two ways to install DX-TQSL, and which one is right depends on whether ARRL’s TQSL is already on the PC.
Download from dxqso.org — recommended if you already use TQSL
The Download for Windows or Mac buttons install DX-TQSL in the same location as TQSL, so your logging software keeps working with no changes. DX-TQSL replaces TQSL rather than sitting alongside it.
Get it from the Microsoft Store — clean installs only
DX-TQSL is also published on the Microsoft Store, which handles installation and updates for you: DX-TQSL on the Microsoft Store.
Already have TQSL installed? Use the dxqso.org download instead. The Store version installs to a separate per-user location and will not replace an existing TQSL, so your logging software would keep pointing at the old one. Choose the Store only if TQSL has never been installed on this PC.
The DxQSO Configuration tab
The DxQSO Configuration tab is the last tab on the right in the DX-TQSL window. It controls how DX-TQSL connects to your DxQSO account and how your signed QSOs flow to LoTW and to your DxQSO cloud logbook. Settings here are saved automatically as you change them.
Your DxQSO account & sign-in
The top of the tab shows whether you are signed in to your DxQSO account, your subscription status, and a Login / Logout button. Signing in is optional, but you must be signed in for DX-TQSL to back up your certificates, stations, and logbook to the cloud and to sync your QSOs to the DxQSO app and website. Uploads to DxQSO that cannot be delivered are queued and re-sent automatically. Signing in on a new PC restores your certificates and station locations automatically.
Server LoTW Upload True False
Instructs the DxQSO cloud server to send all QSOs in your cloud logbook to LoTW on your behalf. When set to True, uploading to LoTW happens server-side — you don’t need to leave a PC running. This is a Member subscription feature. Most operators who upload directly from their own computer leave this set to False.
My User Profile Upload to LoTW directly from my local PCs Do not upload to LoTW from my local PCs
Your account-wide default for whether your local DX-TQSL installations upload signed QSOs to LoTW. Because it lives on your DxQSO profile, it applies to every PC where you run DX-TQSL — set it once and all your machines follow it. Use the Local Override setting below to change the behavior on one specific computer.
Local Override Follow profile Upload locally Do not upload locally
Overrides the My User Profile default for this computer only:
- Follow profile — use whatever your account profile says (the normal choice).
- Upload locally — always upload to LoTW from this PC, regardless of the profile.
- Do not upload locally — never upload to LoTW from this PC. Handy on a field or portable laptop where you only want QSOs captured into DxQSO and will let another machine or the server handle LoTW.
Tag all QSOs free text
Any text you enter here is attached as a tag to every QSO this installation sends to DxQSO. Use it to label an operating session, event, contest, or station — for example “Field Day 2026” or “POTA K-1234” — so you can find and filter those contacts later in DxQSO. Leave it blank if you don’t need a tag.
Override Station Name Yes No + station list
Controls which DxQSO station name is recorded for the QSOs DX-TQSL captures:
- No (default) — DX-TQSL uses the station name your logging application supplies. If your logger doesn’t send one, DxQSO assigns the QSOs to your Home station.
- Yes — DX-TQSL forces the station you pick from the dropdown for every QSO it captures, ignoring whatever your logging program specifies. Use this when your logger doesn’t send a station name, or sends one that doesn’t match your DxQSO stations.
This setting affects only the station name recorded in DxQSO. It does not change the LoTW station location embedded in your signed file.
